3.3 疑惑の？バスツアー２

疑惑のバスに揺られ、昏々と眠っていたところ、
車が急に停まり、ハッと目を覚ました。

ここはどこだ…？

とりあえず降りるらしい。
寝ぼけながらバスを降りると、長城が見えた。

このバスの行き先は「八達嶺長城」「明十三陵」と
歩き方には書いてあったので、ここは八達嶺か…と、
推測して、ちょっと安心する。

が、そんなのもつかの間、
看板を見ると「居庸関長城」と書いてある。
（メジャーな八達嶺に比べてマイナー所）
や、やはり、違う目的地に連れられて来たか…？？？

と少し心配しながらも、
素晴らしい風景を目前にして、楽しまない訳には行かない。
ガイドさん（カタコト英語が通じた）に戻り時間を確かめ、
1人てくてく長城に登っていく。

すごい。すごいと思った。
目の前に歴史の世界が広がっている。
一歩一歩、歴史を踏みしめて歩く。

第一に感じたのは、こんな険しい山の中に、
こんな頑強な建物を作りあげた人々の苦労。
その息遣いを想像して静粛な気持ちになる。

どんなに時間とお金と人の労苦をかけても、
中国の皇帝たちには、これが必要だったんだろう。
それだけモンゴルのような北方民族の脅威が
中国にとって大きかったということの現れである。

モンゴルに行き、そして「草原の記」を読んだおかげで、
この長城を、中国とモンゴルという両面から
見ることが出来たような気がする。自分の中で、
歴史の時間軸と空間軸がつながったような気がして、
胸が躍るような思いがした。

来て良かった～～～～～！！と心から感動。
騙されてたとしても、もう悔いはない。

が、踊る心とは裏腹に、
急な階段の連続に足がカクカク言い出した。
観光時間は1時間半くらい与えられていたけど、
頂上まで達することは出来なそうだ。
バスがどこにあるか心配だったし、
少し早めに引き返すことにした。

かっくんかっくん不自然な歩き方で長城を降りる。
降りて初めて気づいた。登ってくる人々の必死の形相…。
それだけ坂が厳しいのである。

無事、10分前くらいに駐車場に着いたが、
駐車場が広すぎて、肝心のバスが見つからない。
小走りで探し続けるが、時間は刻々と過ぎていく。。

出発2分前くらいに、ようやくバスを見つけた。
危ない危ない。ほっとして自分の座席に戻ると、
隣のおじさんもまだ戻っていなかった。

出発時間を10分過ぎても、まだおじさんは来ない。

ガイドさんがいらいらし始めた。
自分が間に合ったことに胸をなでおろした瞬間、
バスのドアが閉まり、バスは無常にも動き出した。

置いていくんだ。。

遅刻した者への厳しい仕打ち。
明日は我が身との思いを強くして、
10分前行動を心に決めた。

そして、次に向かったのは、今度こそ「八達嶺長城」。

八達嶺もやはりメジャースポットだけあって良い。
居庸関以上にスケールも大きいし、遠くの方まで
長城の連なりを望むことが出来るので、長城の、
途方のない大きさを実感することが出来る。
しんどさに関しても、こっちの方がメジャー級だ。

ここでは、フランス祭りのようなイベントをやっていて、
ずいぶんと道々が装飾されていた。歴史的な雰囲気は
半減しているが、また別の味わいがある。

八達嶺の後、バスは「明十三陵」と、そして何故か、
最後に遊園地を回り（さすがに遊園地は入らなかった）
バスは北京に戻った。勿論、帰りのバスも熟睡。

一日中、歩き回ったおかげで、体はくたくただった。
帰りにマッサージ屋に寄って、全身マッサージと
カッピングをしてもらった。

バスの居眠りの体勢が悪く、肩こりがひどかったせいか、
肩のカッピング跡を見て、施術してくれたお兄さんが
思わず「ひえっ」と声をあげていた。
自分で見る術はないが、よほどうっ血していたのか…。

　＃日本に帰ってきて鏡を見たらひどい跡だった

ふー、怒涛の1日だった。

大満足でホテルに戻ったが、
相変わらず、隣の部屋から奇声とガタゴト音が…。
うるさいとは思いつつも、すっかり疲れていたので、
すぐに夢の中に落ちた。明日は故宮だ。
